Something I was wondering about: are you planning on enforcing all Blitzs limitations (eg. const step values) even when java doesn't have them?

Something I was wondering about: are you planning on enforcing all Blitzs limitations (eg. const step values) even when java doesn't have them? No, not necessary, but step values are constants for a very good reason. Think about it.. "for n=1 to 10" transforms into "for(int n=1;n <=10;n++)" "for n=10 to 1 step -1" must transform into "for(int n=10;n >=1;n--)" Since the from and to values can be expressions, the compiler can't know what these values are. And if the step value also was an expression, the compiler would'nt know which way the test (<= for increasing, and >= for decreasing) should be. As you can see, I'm not enforcing this just because Blitz does. I could have used an external function to evaluate the expression, but that would be a big perfomance killer. I've tested this. |
