Yup, as was stated 'Updates paused during April', its now bleeding nearly October!!!! I know that things happen in life, but this isn't an 'OPEN SOURCE' thing, we all paid good money, so a word or two now and again from the developer would be nice....no? Bad,bad customer relations!!! All the best Mark.

Looks like development on SpriteCandy is a thing of the past and I think its time for me to move onto something else. I have been messing around with Bmax lately and I am about 75% done with a sprite library which will allow me to do just about the same as spriteCandy would, so I don't really need to stick with it.
I never really got around to do anything cool with it, which is a shame as its a really good sprite library. But life got in the way and a huge 4+ month break from coding happened.
So I think that I might as well use Bmax as my future language. Good luck with all your projects.

There was expected to be enhancements for a shadow system and some details on creating tilemaps. I managed to get SC and NSprite working together plus mix 2D and 3D but pure SC tiles caused huge amounts of surfaces. Without a lot of jiggery-pokery there was awful slowdown. I don't think the distance jiggle has been fixed either. I'm using BMax more often now so, personally, want to know whether it's still worth coming here. I guess, as mentioned earlier, any problems should be emailed to Xpressive. P.S. Zac, I'd be interested in your Sprite library.

I am working on the documentation and coding a showcase demo for it now. So it won't be long until I will be bringing it online for people to try out. Then we'll see if anyone is interested. I will be posting about it on the official Blitz forum and on CodersWorkshop once its ready. Expect about a week or so though.
[edit] one of the reasons it might take a week is also that I am having some problems getting things to work as a module that works fine as regular code. Its a private/public issue I believe. But I hope it won't take too long to iron out.

I also wrote this on another thread: Since I am working on some other time consuming projects, I announced that users that may have a problem using SC should email me their questions directly in case of emergency. This forum was originally set up with the idea that SC users will help each other. I am sad that this doesn't seem to work I am working sixteen hours a day (minimum) and there's simply not enough time to monitor this board all by myself. The last SC update (v 1.0.11) has been sent out just a couple of weeks ago. If you did not receive it, you probably changed your email address, so let me know. SpriteCandy is still by far the most complete and powerful sprite lib available for B3D, so I also don't understand why some of you are crying for updates all the time. I realized several big commercial game projects and tons of smaller ones using SpriteCandy until today. Actually, I am using SC with ALL of my own projects. This shows how complete and well-working it is. So what is it why some of you are constantly yelling for updates? The present version has features that allow things that have not been done before -and you should exhaust them completely first before shouting for even more features. Here's what you can do with the present version: SpriteCandy Effects Demo 2006Please learn to use all the EXISTING features first before asking for new things all the time.

Nice to see that you are still active. And I wouldn't mind getting that latest update. I have just emailed you asking about it. 16 hour days, wow that sounds like a tough one. I hope you like what you are doing, otherwise it would be stressful for sure.
I haven't really made much of anything with the library, but its one of the best, if not the best for blitz3d, and if I had more time for coding I might even get something done. But at the moment I am caught with the blitzmax bug, but I might return to blitz3d for things I need done in a flash, which is what its really good at, especially with this library.

Xpressive/Wopag, Who has been "crying" for updates? Anyway, I haven't received 1.11 either although my email has not changed. Could you have taken a moment to update your forum with the announcement? Anyway, I made a post after emailing Xpressive that their presence would be limited. I didn't mind doing this (although I wasn't sure why they couldn't take time out to post it themselves) but was told it was short-term absence. I was waiting for some promised feedback on using SC with tilemaps which was causing quite a few problems but never saw anything back. Regarding the comment "This forum was originally set up with the idea that SC users will help each other. I am sad that this doesn't seem to work ".. you might notice quite a few people have been answering each others questions and suggesting unanswered queries be emailed to Xpressive and I'm a bit annoyed that it's been received so ungratefully or else has gone unnoticed. Finally... "you should exhaust them completely first before shouting for even more features." and "Please learn to use all the EXISTING features first before asking for new things all the time. " I can't believe your attitude here. I never received update 1.11, there was no notification of an update, never saw a forum post that you were contemplating an update, haven't seen a feature request post SINCE this update was released. Who has been shouting for more features *since* 1.11? P.S. Going to temper this a bit. SC is fantastic although I am also using Bmax more nowadays. My major concern is with random remarks about crying, shouting and not helping where no evidence is given. I have noticed the website has a 1.0.11 doc download but nothing in the new features. It also states under SC Main Features... "More to come..! " so it would be nice for the paying customers to have either some input or some insight into what is 'to come'.

Wow updates ! And i thought SC had been abandoned. So let's see what is in the package. My last version is 1.0.9, seems i have missed something since the days i changed to another HUD lib. I received my update. Thanks X-Pressive. If someone could tell me how i get a constant font-scale across screenresolutions i would swap back to SC for good. ....Ah i found it: HUD_scale
